DaVinci Resolve System Requirements

DaVinci Resolve is the non-linear editing (NLE) and color grading software of choice for many creators. Not all of us have the best hardware, so what works and what doesn’t?

The non-linear editing system was originally developed by Da Vinci Systems. Although the latest versions are fully featured for video editing it's still better known for its original capabilities in color correction and grading. Blackmagic distributes both a free and paid version of the software. The cost for the paid version of DaVinci Resolve is $299 (as of 2018).


Specs for Minimal levels of performance in DaVinci Resolve 16


Most software developers publish system requirements, and while they're accurate, they can be difficult to interpret; not everyone's comfortable with the jargon employed, and older components are often referred to long after they've left the market.


Here are the current specs for pre-built machines capable of handling DaVinci Resolve 16.

Sadly, there are also no predefined standards for performance; some developers have very high standards while others can be a bit optimistic so your mileage may vary.
